Itinerary


Day 1 - Arrival in Papua New Guinea

Arrive at Port Moresby International Airport. Your local guide will meet you at the airport and take you to the hotel. Take time to freshen up before heading out to explore the city at your own leisure.


Day 2 - Port Moresby - Mount Hagen - Simbai Valley

Transfer to the airport for your journey to Mount Hagen. Upon arrival, take a short charter flight to the remote Simbai Valley, where you will check into your accommodation to freshen up and get ready for the upcoming festivities.


Day 3-4 - Kalam Festival

Participate in the exciting Kalam Festival and spend two fascinating days filled with vibrant festivities and lively performances. Throughout the festival, witness a variety of ancient customs and traditions, including traditional bride price exchanges and coming-of-age ceremonies as well as mumu preparations and celebratory feasts. You will also get to enjoy the dynamic sing-sing performances of the Simbai tribe and interact with the local community to enhance your experience.


Day 5 - Simbai Valley - Mount Hagen - Port Moresby

Fly back to Mount Hagen, where you will take another flight to Port Moresby. Upon arrival, spend the rest of the day exploring the charming Port Moresby - check out the bustling local markets as well as the renowned cultural landmarks in the city. You will also get a chance to visit a traditional cultural village to get a glimpse of Papua New Guinea’s rich culture and unique traditions.


Day 6 - Departure from Papua New Guinea

Check out from the hotel after breakfast, then transfer to Port Moresby International Airport for your flight back home.

    Itinerary:


    Day 1:Friday, September 19

     Upon arrival in Goroka, you will be picked up from the airport and transferred to your guesthouse. Enjoy dinner and settle in for your first night in preparation for the festival.


    Day 2: Saturday, September 20

    Begin your first full day at the Goroka Show with VIP access and your guide. Experience the vibrant traditional dances, colorful costumes, and cultural performances. A packed lunch will be provided to take along, and you will return to your guesthouse in the afternoon.


    Day 3: Sunday, September 21

    Spend your second day at the festival exploring more performances and traditional displays. Visit the John McCarthy Museum within the festival grounds while enjoying VIP entry and the guidance of your expert host. A packed lunch is included, and you will return to your guesthouse in the afternoon.


    Day 4: Monday, September 22

     After breakfast, you will be transferred to Goroka Airport for your departure. (Overnight accommodation in Port Moresby is not included.)
